Sutton Tools
Established in 1917, Sutton Tools is one of the oldest family businesses in Australia. Throughout its rich history, Sutton Tools has collected an impressive list of awards and achievements. Its induction to the prestigious 2017 Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame and the 2017 “Manufacturer of The Year: Large Business” award is the latest recognition for this large family owned Victorian employer. The 2017 theme of ‘Growing Advanced Manufacturing’ recognised outstanding achievements by Victorian businesses and individuals who uphold a high standard of excellence in Victorian manufacturing.
Sutton Tools produces over 30,000 line items, including Drills, Taps and Milling cutters for the DIY and Industrial sectors, many of which are manufactured in Melbourne and exported throughout the world.
The visit will include a detailed tour of the Thomastown facility where you will see advanced manufacturing practices with its foundations based on the adoption and belief in Lean Manufacturing values. The tour will provide an insight into the cutting edge of traditional subtractive manufacturing, the latest innovations in the fast-evolving world of additive manufacturing.
