This practitioner focused event will discuss the application of action learning to projects of real importance to your business to deliver systemic change and sustain business outcomes long after the project is completed
Action Learning is learning by doing. A small team works intensively to tackle a problem of real importance to the organisation. This is not required for tame problems but for situations where no single course of action is clear or to be justified, wicked situations or issues, the process works surprisingly well.
As with ‘Chinese whispers’, the message changes over time …
This week's guest speaker is Oscar Roche from the TWI Institute. Oscar is a regular speaker at TWI and Toyota Kata summits and conferences in the US and Europe and a frequent presenter of webinars through Lean Frontiers.
In October Oscar spent three days with Mr Isao Kato, Mr Taiichi Ohno’s HR advisor, in Japan. During this time it became clear that common understanding of standardised work has developed many shades of grey. When provided with Mr Kato’s ‘5 step ups’ model Oscar and his team realised most of us are at step up 1 or 2. That was daunting and the bad news. The good news is a tremendous amount of value can be gained from just undertaking step up 1 and 2 at least.
Join Oscar as he shares with you his insights and experience on standardized work. Oscar will outline Mr Kato's five step ups of standardised work.
