EVENT TOPIC
At this event we welcome guest speaker Peter Ballas, who will share his experience and key take-aways from the 2019 AME International Conference. Sometimes an international perspective is needed, and for a select group of businesses this was gained through attending the Association for Manufacturing Excellence’s (AME) 35th annual international conference. Held in Chicago, from November 4 to 7, representatives of Australian manufacturing business Note Printing Australia were in attendance. AME's international conference is the largest Lean and continuous improvement conference in the world. Through the use of a short presentation and open forum participants will find out what Peter learnt from the 5 day event.
GUEST SPEAKER
Peter Ballas has strong experience across Continuous Improvement and Operations management. As Head of Business Excellence for Note Printing Australia, he is focused on a clear, quantifiable vision to help align all areas of the business. With many years of Operations leadership, Peter has a unique perspective through his choice to transition into Business Excellence.
Note Printing Australia, a subsidiary of the Reserve Bank of Australia, manufactures Australia’s bank notes and passports, as well as for a number of other countries. As Peter Ballas, head of business excellence, described, the business had been on a Lean journey for the past few years. This began when Note Printing Australia had to prepare for the roll out of Australia’s second polymer bank note series, with the new $5 note entering into circulation in 2016.
