EVENT OVERVIEW
Bosch Australia Manufacturing Solutions is a leader in design and development of special purpose assembly equipment. Bosch Australia won the 2018 Manufacturer of the Year Award (Large Business) at the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards.
Bosch Australia has done a great job over an extended period to ensure ongoing competitiveness and innovative strength. Last year Bosch Australia manufactured and exported about 120 million automotive power diodes. The company has also made sizeable investments in manufacturing for the global automotive sector including A$8.5 million investment to increase diode production capacity in 2018. Its Manufacturing Solutions business, which was founded in 2015, now manufactures special purpose machines, manufacturing equipment and services to the manufacturing sector locally and overseas.
The Bosch Company has a very simple philosophy, and that is “Don’t disappoint your customers.” With this in mind, quality of product and timely delivery is paramount. Every day the business strives to ensure continuous improvement. Over time, they have developed techniques and approaches that were originally borrowed heavily from the Toyota production system. They have adapted the systems and approaches with the Bosch Production System ( BPS ) and use different terminology but it’s largely about removing waste and improving processes, whether in Manufacturing, Engineering or any other business process.
