Leading Through Excellence and Innovation Conference 2017 Showcases the Latest Innovations in Lean and Continuous Improvement
The Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) Australia held its 2017 Leading Through Excellence and Innovation Conference in Melbourne, Victoria from the March 6-9. The conference provided networking and education on lean and continuous improvement to more than 150 professionals over four days.
At the conference attendees were offered the opportunity to learn best practices directly from practitioners. The conference featured three international keynote speakers, two of which were 2016 Shingo Award Recipients.
Conference attendees had the chance to tour local companies showcasing best practices, including Toyota Australia, Melbourne Zoo, Pacific Brands Underwear Group, Southern Cross Ceramics and Rowville Horse Trailers. The conference also featured pre- and post-conference workshops, and practitioner presentations from industry leaders.
International keynote speaker and AME North America Committee Member, Michael Bremer, announced the launch of the Lean Sensei app, available for download in the Apple App Store. The new benchmarking tool is designed to guide conversations about continuous improvement and help manufacturers benchmark their operations against AME Excellence Award quality standards. Dedicated to improving the manufacturing industry overall, the AME Lean Sensei app is available to all manufacturers regardless of membership in AME. Feedback for this conference has been overwhelmingly positive. With 100% of respondents gaining insight into Lean and other Continuous Improvement methodologies and believing that overall conference was worthwhile.
