Companies have used the phrase, "people are our greatest asset," for too long, and it is only partially correct. The truly engaged and talented people are the real asset of your company. Real change – sustainable change – relies more on your empowered people. Billy Taylor is an evangelist for people inclusion processes in operational excellence. It all comes back to the challenge: Institutionalizing Operational Excellence through everyone in your organization. Successful culture change is driven by diversity and inclusion, “it’s not about the source of the idea, it’s about the quality of the solution”.
Billy Ray Taylor is Director of Commercial & Off Highway Manufacturing for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company where he leads the company's North American Tire operations. He is responsible for engineering, capital investments and supply chain execution and driving operational excellence. He brings more than 20 years of experience in all phases of operations management and leadership and has a track record of building high performance self-sustaining teams through employee ownership, engagement, and empowerment at all levels of an organization. He is recognized within the global operations industry as a validated practitioner for implementing operational excellence within culturally diverse environments. Taylor is a disciple of continuous improvement and his approach to excellence centers on “People First”.
Barry McCarthy has a wealth of knowledge in the field of operational excellence. Barry is a recent graduate of the Toyota Production System, but will always be a student. Experiencing the rhythmic production lines of Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, Kentucky, and of course Japan at its heart, has been meaningful work. Barry specialises in the implementation of integrated systems and routines; always respecting human resource development. He has implemented company-wide: Hoshin Kanri, Toyota Business Practices, On-job-development, Leadership Development, and the Toyota Way. At the shop floor level: Management, Engineering, and Logistics Development Systems, Jishuken, Standardised work, A3, and PDCA. He worked in the Toyota Institute, Manufacturing Organisational Planning and Development, and the TPS office within Toyota.
Errol Benvie is the Principal Director of Wisdom Lab with more than 25 years C Suite corporate experience across industries and in multiple countries. A Masters of Organisational Coaching from Sydney University launched his second career as a human systems practitioner-scholar applying his deep experience to researching, interpreting and designing organisational applications from the humanities, sociology, human psychology and philosophy.
